The long-awaited department store Attica on Tsimiski Avenue opened its gates in October of 2014. This is the second project of Attica Department Store S.A. in Thessaloniki, following its presence in Mediterranean Cosmos since March of 2012. Attica’s new building comprises of ten levels, having a total surface of 7.000 sq.m., and a cold shell that has undergone substantial internal and external works by solely maintaining the spatial arrangement of staircases and shafts. The project’s architectural design belogns to Akis Bogdanos, having already designed all Attica stores (City Link, Golden Hall, Mediterranean Cosmos and Tsimiski Ave.), highlighting -in the best possible way- the presence of the renovated building on Tsimiski Avenue while providing unique interior spaces being optimally harmonized against the heterogeneity of the 250 brands provided in its commercial floors. The project management of the entire initiative was awarded to Chris Gkologiannis (Engineering Research and Applications SA) having recognized his accumulated experience in complex building projects; all electromechanical infrastructure was designed by the well-know engineering office of Karanasios Varsami & Associates.
